Ballokume recipe with Rimmed®️ products

Ballokume Recipe with Rimmed®️ Products: Rimmed®️ Plastic Membrane and Rimmed®️ Baking Paper.

These cakes are traditional in the city of Elbasan and are made on Midsummer's Day on March 14. Gradually, this tradition was embraced by other cities such as Tirana, Korça, etc. We will present you an easy recipe to prepare delicious ballokume using two important kitchen products: Rimmed®️ Plastic Membrane and Rimmed®️ Baking Paper.Let's get started!

Ingredients:

Preparation

In a large bowl, pour the sugar, if possible use fine sugar (but not powdered sugar). We can use a glass bowl or an unplated copper bowl.

Then add the melted but not too hot butter to the bowl. Beat both ingredients vigorously until a foam forms.

The beating process can take about half an hour. The sugar together with the butter should be stringy. If we touch it with two fingers, it should open into a string.

Then add the eggs one by one, continuing to beat. When adding the next egg, we must stir until the previous egg is completely mixed in. So keep in mind that we add an egg every 3 minutes without stopping beating.

In the last step, carefully add the corn flour. Add the flour in small amounts, stirring constantly. Stir well to prevent lumps. If the mixture is too sticky, add a little more flour. Let the mixture rest for 20 minutes. To bake the Elbasani balls without sticking, you can line the pan with Rimmed®️ Baking Paper.

Then, with a wooden spoon, we pour the dough into the pan without having to shape it. We bake the balls in the oven at 150°C for about 40-45 minutes. After we take them out, we let them cool down a bit and wrap them with Rimmed®️ Plastic Membrane.

Bon appetit!
